Straight From the Horses Mouth

For those of you who may feel that Mumma exaggerates Bettina a little in this blog, I thought I'd let Bettina speak for herself for once...

  1. Bettina, you and me? Related. For sure. You're pretty good at being persistent, I must say. May I suggest you work harder on your woeful look though? I find that works heaps better than the howling whining thing. Try it in conjunction with the pleading paw, tap tap. Oh! And after you get on, don't forget to shove the human off. There's really only space for one on any couch or bed. Hooroo! X

  2. I don't think I could have resisted that for 3:48!

  3. Oh! This had me rolling! How funny! This has to immediately be marked as a "Bettina Classic."

  4. Ha ha ha ha ha! OMG! She's related to Bunny! I've never seen a little hound so persistent about getting her spot on the couch. And the answer to your question about whether she's happy now is "No, because you are still here taking up too much space on my couch!"

  5. That reminds me of my Stanley. Very persistent but nice about it. Stella on the other hand will look at a full couch, jump up where she wants to go, and sits on whatever dog or person is there hoping they will move.

  6. Well, I know now that Bettina is actually spelled T-E-N-A-C-I-T-Y. How did you ever manage to endure the angst, and, oh, my, goodness, the staring?! For the love of God, Mumma, let that girl get on the sofa!! Thanks for sharing that video - one of my new all time favorites!

  7. That was adorable! She was making her desire so perfectly clear!

My older corgi does something similar. We watch our movies in the basement where we have a nice sound system and large screen There are two recliners. John in one, me in the other. The boys always come down with us because movie time means they get a "chew". When they are done with the treat, Wilson will walk around to the front of my chair (never John's!) and look longingly at the chair. He'll sit and maybe poke my leg with his nose or make a little squeak. He's telling me it's his turn for the chair! If I get up, he happily jumps up and takes my spot!

  8. Bettina, you are so very nice. If I want on the couch, I launch myself in the air & land where I may. If my people catch me before I launch & tell me no, I go get a squeaky toy & drive them nuts until they let me up.

  9. Oh my goodness, that was so funny. Its always the eyes and how they look at you. I was actually watching while Maggie was watching her bowl (hint for dinner) until Bettina started talking, Maggie answered back... BOL
